Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion
Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion is performed in patients suffering from severe neck pain or arm pain. An MRI / CT scan is then recommended to diagnose the cause of pain. If, the investigation report show pinged nerve along with herniated / degenerated disc, the surgeon recommends discectomy with fusion.
Here, the compressed nerve is released and the herniated disc is removed, a graft is then inserted to fuse the bones and the disc below. Patient needs to undergo thorough physiotherapy.
